New Leadership Announced at 207Sports With Building To Be Known As The Maine Athletic Complex (“The MAC”)

PORTLAND, ME (June 13, 2017) – Starting November 1, 2017, Heidi and Brett Allen will assume responsibility for all event scheduling, program direction, and oversight of the building currently recognized as 207Sports, located at 1173 Riverside Street in Portland. At that time, the facility will be identified as the “Maine Athletic Complex (The MAC).”

The Greater Portland area is a booming sports community with a long winter season and there is a shortage of indoor space available as a result. The MAC will host a variety of sports groups and special events to meet the needs of these programs throughout the year.

Heidi Allen, Co-Owner of Maine Athletic Complex, LLC states: “We recognize the need for viable indoor space for the many sports programs that are competing for indoor turf time throughout the year. While we will maintain existing relationships that current tenants have at 207Sports, we also expect to diversify the type of usage the facility has seen in the past so that different types of groups can take advantage of the space and it can become the home for numerous events in the community.”

The Maine Athletic Complex will have space dedicated to a fitness area that will be accessible to those renting the facility. Additionally, there is the potential for office or retail space and advertising opportunities that The MAC will be looking to develop for any interested groups.

“It’s an exciting time for sports groups, clubs, and events in the Portland area. There are so many people who participate in recreational activities in a group setting, as well as a vast number of younger athletes who are investing more time participating in club and town sports. It’s important to us to provide a facility that can meet the needs of all of these groups while creating a space that is accessible to all,” says, Brett Allen, Co-Owner of Maine Athletic Complex, LLC.
